The finance office is responsible for the fiscal accounting matters of the County.The office processes approximately $10,000,000.00 annually which includes numerous reserve/investment accounts, grant monies, special funds and the bi-weekly processing of payroll and general operating expenses. The Knox County Charter changed the treasurer's position from an elected one to an appointed one. The finance director is also the treasurer for the county. The treasurer's duties are described in State Statute , Title 30-A Section 151-183.

Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m., excluding holidays.
